Hi, I’m Sammy, the mama behind Blue Brontide and mummy to a nearly 5 year old Alfie. (Chief product tester at Blue Brontide) Before creating Blue Brontide I worked in numerous jobs, customer services for a vintage fashion line, insurance (urgh) composite laminator, amongst other various roles before I decided to head out on my own journey and work for myself.

Blue Brontide – https://bluebrontide.com was created with the concept that ‘children’s items should not only be beautiful, but built to last’.

I found that as babies grow, what once was the most essential must have item, often ended up being just another plastic “thing” taking up space that ended up being disposed of with more new “stuff” taking its place – with a bit of research I found that over 40% of babies products have a lifespan no longer than 4 months! Hence Blue Brontide was born with a desire to shift this concept of children’s products with an “expiry date”, to become the Eco-friendly baby and kids collection that’s designed to keep & be passed on to new members as the family grows.

As well as stocking children’s products designed & made by small independent ‘Green brands’ from around the world I have my own children’s collection of handcrafted wooden toys, children’s tableware & flower presses that are made with love and care in my little workshop based in Yorkshire, UK. All made in sustainable oak wood sourced from our local timber yard just down the road you can find thoughtful & sustainably designed children’s items you can feel good about gifting. Sustainability has always been at the very heart of what we do here at Blue Brontide, it also means we want to do our part for the planet by giving back to nature, we might be a small business but we believe together we can make a big impact by taking positive steps to reduce the negative impact humanity is having on the environment, which is why we’re so thrilled to partner with the non-profit organisation Ecologi, helping us plant as many trees as possible.

For every order placed at blue brontide (no matter how big or small) one tree is planted with Ecologi, I like to call this buy one, get one tree! So far 1549 trees with more being added to that number daily.
