For anyone that knows me, I am a big coffee lover. And as much as I like to spend time choosing the origin of my coffee, I also like to enjoy it out of a nice mug or cup.
Mike Fish Ceramics is a Cambridgeshire based business, so I’m pleased I’ve discovered a small business local to me. Much to my coffee delight, I was kindly sent 2 handmade Portland Coffee Cups to review and obviously have the perfect cup of coffee in! I was really impressed when they arrived, not only because the box they came in had been reused, which is something I referred to in this post here, but they were well protected with bubble wrap too.
Once I’d got my cafetiere ready, I poured the coffee in. I loved how easy they were to hold, and also the lovely speckled finish that they had on them. So trendy! They hold the right amount of liquid too and I’d love to try an espresso, or double, in them.
So, how are they created to give such a stylish and minimalist look? Well, Mike hand-throws stoneware forms on a potter’s wheel before adding his own custom-made glazes. And because of this, each item is unique but equally as beautiful
These wonderful cups are only £6 each or you can get 4 for only £20. The cost of nice cups these days can be well into double figures, so I think for a handmade ceramic cup, this is incredible value. Plus, a set of 4 would make a perfect gift for any lover of drinks, be it coffee, hot chocolate, tea, wine, etc. Not to forget, they are also dishwasher friendly, so no need to waste time washing them up!
I think they’d also pair well with Mike’s beautiful white speckled bowls with textured blue stripes to have your favourite cereal in whilst drinking your cup of coffee. Especially if you’ve got guests over and want to impress.
With Christmas fast approaching think outside the box and consider some handmade ceramic coffee cups. You could even give them as a gift with a bag of ground coffee too. Or perhaps you know someone in the office who would like them as their Secret Santa gift?
Big thanks to Mike for making and sending me these, I look forward to lots of coffee out of them and showing them off when I have people over too. Don’t forget to follow Mike Fish Ceramics on social media too – Facebook | Instagram

Having coffee in different ways makes it more interesting. I think sometimes it’s not just about the coffee but also about the cups and other stuff that levels up the experience. These are great choices.

Ooh, I really like these! Both the mugs and bowls look really stylish and good quality! That’s so cool that each item is handmade and unique. They are such good value for all the hard work that has gone into them too. Lovely review Rebecca, enjoy your coffees! <3 xx
