Oceans Away Book Review

Our little boy is a huge lover of books and as a child who could spend all day outdoors, we love getting him into books about nature, the environment, the world we live in.

Oceans Away is just perfect for accomplishing that!

Dani, the author of this book “is passionate about bringing the two things she cares about most, the next generation and the world we live in, together in this wonderful book. She hopes it inspires a love of all things nature, environment and how together we can protect it for the future”.

Wrapped in the loveliest tissue paper (which I always reuse in one way or another!) we could tell just from the cover that this book was going to blow us away. Flicking through this beautiful book you are instantly wowed with the most amazing illustrations by Anna Stead, which are very easy for young ones to engage with. Not only that, but you can feel how this whole book has an ‘’eco friendly’ theme throughout, with the thick 100% recycled carbon balanced paper pages and eco-friendly ink. It has a high quality feel and it’s also lovely to have something hardback too, especially for the little ones.

The story is simply beautifully written with letters jiggling about, just like the water and sentences flowing amongst the creatures. Oceans Away has become part of the bedtime routine, surrounded by ocean creatures in the bath, we have now been asked to read it to our little boy in the bath! He is starting to say more and more words and when we first opened the book he instantly recognised the turtle – his new found word obsession!

We are excited to make this book an important part of our little boy’s upbringing in teaching him about the ocean, the creatures within, and ways he can have a positive impact on this. It’s such a vital part of this generation’s education and this book is a wonderful way to inspire this from a young age.
