The Story Behind Windflower Bears

“It is a love for creating something out of a simple ball of wool, that drove us to develop the concept for our Windflower bears and the magical world in which they live.

We have created a whole world for our bears. They live in the ‘Windflower wood’, an ancient woodland on the edge of the ‘Buttercup meadow’.

They are kind, happy, thoughtful, friendly, hardworking little bears, who are taught to preserve and care for their ancient habitat – which they do with great love and passion.”

How completely adorable are these bears?! Each knitted bear is unique, yes, unique. What does that mean? Every single bear is individually hand knitted and therefore none are the same. A huge amount of time, effort and passion goes into these super cute bears; they actually melt your heart (well they did mine anyway!).  Each one is ‘born’ with a special windflower on the back of their left ear, which designates that they are a Windflower Bear, and are named after the wild flowers and trees that grow in the ancient woodland. Each bear also comes with its own outfit!

Windflower Bears only launched their Etsy Store at the beginning of February so I’m really glad I’ve discovered such a creative business in it’s early stages and can give them a helping hand. I absolutely love the ideas and concept of the bears, they are amazing and every little bit of detail has been thought out. Some for an occasion or some with meanings. With a huge range of carefully crafted bears to choose from, I can promise you there will be one for everyone!

My Picks

One of my favourite bears is the Windflower Bear Cyphel (Graduation) which makes such a lovely keepsake gift for any Graduate. A wonderful gift to congratulate someone who has graduated and you can even have the sash on the gown in any colour of your choice. Perfect for that personalised touch!

The Little Touches

• Each bear comes with it’s own Sentiment Card (as you can see below) which contains the bear’s name, time and place of birth, and can be personalised with a name of the person receiving it. What a lovely little touch to the purchase and a nice keepsake with the bear too!
• I absolutely love that a donation is made to the Woodland Trust with every sale of a bear, continuing on their brand of preserving and caring for woodlands.
• Each bear is individually packaged within their own protective linen bag.
• The tweets on their Twitter page are so well thought out to help them get out there amongst the other small businesses. A little quote to go with the bear, along with a picture of the bear itself, really catches your eye when scrolling through your news feed!

  

  

Coming soon…

In development are ‘Windflower Bear Stories’, which will expand this wonderful idea further. This will be perfect for those into collectables or building a whole family of these incredibly cute bears! I can’t wait to see this in full force! Windflower bears are always being knitted and created so keep your eyes peeled for new additions.
