I love loose leaf tea. In fact I have two glass teapots just for the occasion. I started drinking peppermint tea couple of years back as I’d read about the health benefits and then discovered this whole new world of tea! Not only can you make a big pot (and it stays hot for a long time) but the flavours are so much nicer than just a standard tea bag.
Greg, owner of Jolly Brew, asked if I would like to try his teas and do a little review of them and obviously, being a big tea lover and small business supporter, I wanted to help in any way I could!
With Jolly Brew Tea, all of their teas are ethically sourced which is fantastic. And not only that, they are super conscious about being green and doing their bit to help the environment. They try and reuse packaging where possible and all of their tins are recyclable. Although rather than put them in the recycling bin why not reuse them
A big thing is their tea bags are PLASTIC FREE! The bags are made from corn starch into a fine mesh which can be biodegraded and broken down readily by microorganisms in the soil.
I was pleasantly surprised with this one. In my head I was thinking mmm healthier alternative to hot chocolate, but it probably won’t taste the same. However once I’d brewed the tea and tasted it, with a splash of almond milk, it was delicious. Perfect as an after dinner hot drink as it does serve some resemblance to after eights!
Now, not being a big marmalade fan (but I am a fan of chocolate orange) I did wonder how this one would sit with me. It was so refreshing and fruity I loved it! Probably helped by the fact it has Apple pieces, Rosehip pieces and Hibiscus petals in the blend. Definitely a sweet sharp blend, would be lovely on a spring day.
The fact that when they first started out they had 15 blends (back in 2014) and now they have up to 50 blends, shows just how passionate and determined Greg is about his Jolly Brew business. There’s a huge variety, fantastic quality and an emerging desire to support the environment in the best way they can. A lot of thought and care has gone into how they source their teas as well as the wonderful packaging of their teas.
Having had a lengthy browse through their website I also like the sound of Sherbert Lemon, Proper Peppermint and Peaches and Cream loose tea so I will be adding these to my wish list! They also offer a Subscription Service so you can choose a large pouch of your favourite tea from just £9.99. With free postage and a free tea sampler with each one this is a fab deal!
Indulge yourself in loose tea and feel the benefits. Not just with your health but also supporting a Small Biz too!
Thank you so much Jolly Brew for kindly sending me these lovely loose teas to try! Go give them a follow too whilst you are at it: Twitter | Facebook | Instagram

They both sound delicious! I used to hate tea, I drink way too much coffee, but I do like mint teas and I’m starting to get into other flavours. The liquid after eight I’m currently thinking of sounds amazing x
